Redesign of hospital designation system to support Urgences santé ambulance services

Ciao has developed a decision-support algorithm for Urgences-santé, optimizing patient assignment and integrating hospital data in real time.

Context:

Urgences-santé receives more than 40% of ambulance service requests in Quebec. On average each year, the Centre de communication santé, Urgences-santé's gateway, receives over 380,000 calls.

Given its outdated nature, Urgences-santé needed to replace the existing decision support module to ensure that patients taken in by pre-hospital emergency services were transported to a hospital with the technical and human resources required for their condition.

Ciao developed a decision support algorithm for assigning transported patients to the appropriate care center. This includes the integration of multiple data sources, both static and dynamic, from the healthcare network, and the development of a dashboard for information exchange with the hospital environment.
