The IT Link Group, technological partner of the Under Antarctica expedition led by Matthieu Tordeur and Heïdi Sevestre

The IT Link Group is proud to announce its partnership with Matthieu Tordeur, a renowned explorer, and Heïdi Sevestre, a renowned glaciologist, for their new scientific expedition called Under Antarctica.
Presented on the occasion of the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), the Under Antarctica project aims to Mapping Antarctic ice. This major scientific mission will make it possible to improve models for forecasting sea level rise and to anticipate future global climate projections.
To meet this challenge, Matthieu and Heïdi will cross Antarctica on kite-skis, pulling behind them a sled equipped with ground penetrating radars. These radars will make it possible to measure the thickness of the ice during their journey, while keeping their carbon footprint low along this crossing.
Embedded solutions from Groupe IT Link
The IT Link Group plays a key role in this adventure as a strategic technology partner by providing :
- An embedded module who will supervise the operation of the radar and will constantly check that the measurements have been acquired correctly.
- A mobile application, developed by the IT Link design office in Rennes, will make it possible to monitor the status of the radar in real time and to anticipate possible breakdowns.
- A website, developed by Ciao, the Group's brand specialized in digital accessibility, which will be the showcase of the expedition and will allow Matthieu and Heïdi to be followed during their journey.
“We are extremely excited to support Matthieu and Heïdi in this fundamental scientific adventure.,” says Eric Boileau, Technical Director of the IT Link Group. “Our expertise in connected systems and software development is put at the service of a cause that resonates with our values: innovation in the service of knowledge and the preservation of our planet. This partnership underlines our positioning as a strategic partner capable of meeting complex technological challenges in extreme environments..”
The start of this extraordinary adventure is scheduled for November 2025, with an estimated return at the end of January 2026.
This partnership embodies the vision of the IT Link Group: put technology at the service of the environment and scientific progress. By supporting Under Antarctica, we are confirming our commitment to responsible innovation, focused on the major climate challenges of our time.
